WALLY WOOD AND PRINCE VALIANT IN ITALY

This is the only board Sunday of Prince Valiant drawn by Wally Wood .
Dated 11/15/70, the table was designed by Wood as a test to replace Hal Foster, who has long talked of his retirement from the series. In addition to Wood other artists fought for the spot, but Foster did draw the series John Cullen Murphy , while continuing to write until 1980.
